My soul sighs with great dole
Pangs of regret resonate throughout
My bones rot within
as I drown within my own shame
I walk, trying to suppress this decay
but all of creation cries out of my guilt
I run, with ears covered
trying to drown out the accusations made
I am sinking
My soul is enveloped in ruin
Destitution has come upon me
I am in shambles
I am broken, beyond repair
scattered, spread across the floor
People take no heed to the broken man on the floor,
their leather boots crush me into a million pieces
Those who see me broken scoff
They jeer at my foolishness
I am left alone to mourn,
and wallow in my tears
My wisdom has faltered
My judgment has dulled
The things I regarded as freedom,
have turned to enslave me
Who will save me?

A lil' something I wrote for my English assignment. It's a lament of a person under the bondage of guilt. But man, I screwed up pretty bad this week. Too bad life doesn't have a rewind button.
